Called in 2017 (Middle Temple) John was admitted as a solicitor in 1986 and granted higher rights of audience (criminal proceedings) in 2005. Since then he has been led in cases involving murder, manslaughter and major drug importation. As sole advocate he has conducted trials concerning serious assault, dishonesty, drugs, firearms and sexual offences. Before coming to the bar, John’s experience as a duty solicitor for thirty years informs his appreciation of case preparation from the outset. John has conducted trials at the Central Criminal Court and appeared in the Court of Appeal.
